Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris made a comeback on March 19, 2021, after weeks of being disabled. It’s an interesting concept and one of the bigger hooks in Forsaken(despite some weapons like Sleeper Simulant being problematic). However, in an interesting twist, players can invade the other instance, killing opposing team members and slowing down their progress towards summoning a Primeval. These will deploy blockers against the enemy team and earn progress towards a Primeval boss.
Enemies drop Motes on death, which can be collected and deposited. Clearly, the Destiny 2 trial is designed to get newcomers into the game, and comes out just a week before expansion Curse of Osiris launches. Gambit is a competitive match between two teams but instead of fighting 4v4 directly, they’re placed in two separate instances with an enemy faction.
The developer has announced a free weekend for Gambit starting from September 21st, 10 AM PT/1 PM ET to September 23rd, 10 AM PT/1 PM ET.
